Founded in 1984 by Toshikiyo Hirata, Kapital began with denim but has since expanded under the creative direction of his son, Kiro. Drawing on traditional Japanese techniques, the label produces eclectic, detail rich clothing that balances craftsmanship with playful, often unconventional design.
